Tree of Loneliness
I climb this tree of loneliness
Where mercy’s deep down in the roots
And hungry for solidarity
I ate from its poisoned fruits
This cruel tree of loneliness
Has branches made of fatal grace
That never break, but bend until
My weakness cascades down my face
In this tree of loneliness
The leaves don’t wither, autumn lasts
Its birds sing songs of solitude
Breed eggs of pressure on your chest
I’ll burn this tree of loneliness
Together we’ll die in flames of despair
And once the ground has drowned in ashes
Then they maybe, maybe care
